Co-Founder & CEO
Eric is co-Founder and CEO of Resilio Inc. and brings over two decades of proven leadership experience in networking and technology companies. Prior to Resilio, he served as President and CEO of BitTorrent Inc. where he was responsible for an ecosystem of software, devices, and protocols that moved between 20% and 40% of the world's Internet traffic on a daily basis. As CEO, he successfully led BitTorrent through the financial crisis of 2008, built a profitable business and grew the user base to more than 170 million monthly users worldwide. He was also responsible for an expanding product portfolio that today includes distributed messaging, file sync and share as well as various live streaming applications.
Prior to BitTorrent Inc. he served as CTO and Vice President of Engineering at Internap Network Services (NASDAQ: INAP) and CTO at netVmg, acquired by Internap. Eric was also an early builder of broadband networks and a pioneer in network optimization technologies. In various roles with Excite@Home, he was instrumental in the development of the world's first large-scale broadband ISP. Prior to that, he led engineering and research teams at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory focusing on information security, high assurance computing, and multicast data communication. He has authored numerous networking patents, and routinely advises technology companies on ways to make the Internet work more efficiently.
Eric holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He also holds a MS in Electrical Engineering from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey California.
