Instead, they have to send it to the hub, which can then transfer it across the other clients.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>In the \u201cfollow-the-sun\u201d model,&nbsp;replication&nbsp;can only occur sequentially between two servers.<\/strong> For example, Server 1 can replicate data to Server 2; when the job completes, Server 2 can then replicate to Server 3, and so on.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In both cases, you\u2019re faced with some serious downsides. Transfers are limited to two devices at a time, so&nbsp;<strong>speeds are limited and unpredictable. <\/strong>In the case of client-server transfers, you\u2019re also dealing with cloud hopping \u2014 the requirement for servers to share data with the hub first before it can be transferred to the entire environment \u2014 which leads to even more slowdowns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Plus,&nbsp;<strong>there\u2019s always a single point of failure. <\/strong>If one of the devices transferring data experiences an outage, network failure, or any other issue, the transfer process gets interrupted and has to start over.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to these limitations, point-to-point solutions aren\u2019t a good choice for&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.resilio.com\/blog\/secure-large-file-transfer\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">syncing large files<\/a>&nbsp;(and large numbers of files) or syncing to many endpoints.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Resilio Platform uses a unique P2P (peer-to-peer) architecture that avoids all these downsides.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Specifically, P2P lets every device in your environment take part in the transfer of files simultaneously.
